How To Stay Crazily Ambitious Although You Are Broke AF

“I know I can make a difference in the world.”

“I will travel around the world.”

“I want to serve more and gain investment not only for myself but to also secure my family’s future.”

“I am born to spend my lifetime as a nurse.”

“I acknowledge my excellent business skills and grow large-scale businesses in the next 10 years.”

These were some of the lines I collected from friends whom I interviewed recently. Reading them made me realized that they really have clear sense of what they want for their futures.

However, reality sucks. It’s nice to dream our goals day after day, yet, there are times when circumstances hinder them.

However, reality sucks. It’s nice to dream our goals day after day, yet, there are times when circumstances hinder them. It might be:

  • Finances
  • Busy schedules
  • Parents’ decisions
  • Health issues
  • Fear of the unknown / self-doubt

Out of 20 people I talked to, 67 percent of them revealed that the lack of financial resources stopped them from achieving it. The busy schedules (16.7 percent) and parents’ decisions (16.7 percent) follow. One of the interviewees said her health stops her from doing what she wants.

That’s the sad part. We have our own sets of dreams installed in our mental software. But our body does not seem cooperating.

When you want something, there’s always a way. ALWAYS.

If you’re going to ask me what would I do if that happened to me, I’ll say doing self-exploration instead of crying and mourning over my failures until my dying days. That’s not me at all. Personally, I’ll take the hindrance as a sign from God that I have to find more avenues of what can I do more than I’ve imagined.

Let’s take you want to serve as a nurse. But your asthma attacks keep you from working your best. It might be because of the location, the environment (hospital) or the crowd that keep you sick.

If you really want to serve that bad in that field, try to find ways where you can still serve and give care to people who need it.

Your duty as a nurse doesn’t limit within the hospital. But you can possibly bring that mission beyond these walls.

I have searched bloggers who were once an active nurse. And I found 15 of them. They earned money online (passive income) and served in nursing care niche at the same time.

Instead of serving physically in hospitals and in clinics, they shared their knowledge and skills in that field on the web. Let’s take Lory Schoenly’s story on Correctional Nurse.

She is an obviously a nurse by heart and earned a lot of licenses in her lifetime. But instead of limiting her service through physical means (through duties in agonizing graveyard shifts), she did online.

Lory provides consultancy services, share knowledge on nursing through her podcast, and published several books of that niche “Essentials of Correctional Nursing.”

If she can do something like that, you can too.

Doing What You Love Doesn’t Have Limits

I know you want to serve other people but it doesn’t mean it limits you within the certain area of your life.

You want to travel abroad but your finances suck. Half of my interviewees (50 percent) said this is part of their bucket list. But then again, money issues struck them.

“It was my college dream to travel around the world. In fact, it was my motivation to finish my degree,” my friend Kate told me. “Travel is the food of my soul.”

I bet many of you wanted to try traveling but you fear the upcoming expenses. But your desire screams so loud I could even hear from here. They kept shouting “I want to travel!” over and over again.

If it happens, why don’t you try exploring the beautiful scenery and nature within that country? It doesn’t cost that much. If not build connections with people who love backpacking, right?

I have encountered Matt Kepnes of Nomadic Matt (www.nomadicmatt.com). He shares that traveling around the world doesn’t have to be very expensive. In fact, he published a book which serves as a guide for traveling for FREE!

He knows every inch of a fun and memorable backpacking with less expenses from your pockets. You can find more information of his travels in his blog.

Don’t put your wishes in a container and stuck forever. Explore of other possibilities.

The point is if you really wanted to do something (like you’ll miss 75 percent of your life is you miss it!), find avenues where you can do it. Don’t put your wishes in a container and stuck forever. Explore of other possibilities like I’m doing.

I am a teacher and a writer. Instead of working 9 to 5 under ridiculous demands from the authorities, I built my own website where I can do my thing. I can still teach people to live a happy, positive life possible and write things worthy of sharing. I don’t have to get stuck with something and resent later on. I don’t like that.

Examine yourself.

What do you like to achieve in life and what specific ways should you do to make them possible?
